The Major Reuben Colburn House was the home of Reuben Colburn, a patriot and shipbuilder of Pittston, Maine from 1765 to 1818. Colburn assisted George Washington and Benedict Arnold in the planning and provisioning of the invasion of Canada. Arnolds expedition to seize Quebec from the British Army in 1775 during the American Revolutionary War began here. |
